Dr. Dominique James

If this is your first time visiting my corner of the internet, welcome! If you have known me for a while or you’re a returning client/customer, welcome back!

For those that are new here, I am an educator of 15 years (truthfully I’ve been teaching since I was a kid lol!), military spouse, children’s book author, and mom of two awesome boys. I obtained my doctorate in Educational Leadership & Management from Capella University. I also have a masters in Divergent Learning and undergraduate degree in Elementary Education.

I have taught grades 2-5 as a classroom teacher or math specialist and have served as a project director managing a DoDEA grant serving thousands of military-connected students. Additionally, I have experience as an education content specialist and instructional designer migrating course content online for universities. Currently, I volunteer my time serving on the Military Student Support Process Action Team (MSSPAT - whew, a mouthful!) with the Virginia Department of Education. As you can see, I have expertise in a variety of areas.

Here are a few fun facts about me:

• My family is the only military family I know that has not ever PCS’d out of our current state! We are on a 13 year record!

• Sweet tea is my favorite drink - I’m a SC native.

• I love dance fitness classes, MixxedFit to be exact! There is nothing like dancing your stress away!
